Design, Development & Build for Flyover & Drains from Mediapolis at one-north to Portsdown Avenue & Ayer Rajah Expressway
Enhancing estate connectivity is an important aspect of creating a conducive and alternative working environment for the one-north community. The construction of a T-shaped flyover at the junction of one-north Avenue and Portsdown Avenue serves the community needs of the growing population and support the increased traffic volume.
Prior to the erection of the two-lane dual-carriageway flyover, two at-grade slip roads were constructed to connect Portsdown Avenue towards Queensway and one-north Avenue. In an effort to minimise disruption to ongoing traffics, six pre-stressed precast (PSPC) beams, each weighing approximately 150 tonnes and spanning 40 m, were launched across the live roads at the junction. On the other hand, overhang formwork system was adopted for the construction of deck slabs.
To facilitate the mobility of pedestrians, an underpass with depressed ramps and cantilever walkways with staircases along the flyover were built strategically. Besides, other ancillary works, such as drainage works, slope profiling, paving works, relocation of bus shelter and installation of sewerline in the diameter of 450 mm by mircotunnelling technique, have also been duly completed.
