Construction of Aircraft Parking Apron (West), Associated Taxiways & Ancillary Works at Seletar Airport
To better serve the growing traffic at Seletar Airport, there was a need to extend its runway and to upgrade its associated facilities.
In 2009, Samwoh has carried out a series of upgrading works to improve the airport’s infrastructure. The main scope of works included the demolition of existing structures, services and old pavements as well as earthwork and subgrade preparation for the re-construction of aircraft stands and taxiways.
Along with these works, the project also involved other ancillary works. For instance, the construction and realignment of drain system, installation of service manholes, AFL pits and cable ducting system as well as setting up of equipotential netting and floodlight system.
For the first time, Recycled Concrete Aggregate Base was introduced for the construction of base course of new apron service roads in local airport.
