Our Group has deepened its commitment in grooming future engineers and leaders in the industry of Built Environment. Starting from 2017, we have committed S$500,000 over the next five years to create two new endowments, the Samwoh Corporation Global Immersion Study Grant and the Samwoh Corporation Outstanding Student Award in Civil Engineering.
These funds will benefit students of Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Civil Engineering programme at SIT. The former grant will benefit deserving students for their overseas immersion program. Outstanding students, who have excelled academically and shown leadership in making significant contributions beyond academia, will receive the latter award.
Additionally, Samwoh and SIT signed a collaboration agreement to form the Industry Lab (I-Lab). The lab will make available state-of-the-art research and testing facilities at Samwoh Innovation Centre to SIT in support of their Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Civil Engineering programme. SIT will be able to leverage the company’s in-house expertise and resources to broaden the students' learning experience in a real working environment.
Our Group had previously contributed S$200,000 to SIT in 2014 to establish the Samwoh Corporation Bursary. This bursary was set up to assist undergraduates enrolled in the Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering programmes at SIT with financial challenges.
