CAG – Airfield Expansion at Budget Terminal

The project involved the construction of flexible and rigid aircraft pavement, new aircraft parking stands and other associated civil works at the Singapore Budget Terminal.
One key challenge during the construction of taxiway was to maintain undisrupted aircraft operation during the execution of works. An aircraft bridge designed to support the laden load of an A380 aircraft was also erected over an open drain.
All other associated works including open drain and grated U-drain system, guided boring works, cable ducting system, AFL system, floodlighting system and other related works for the construction of new aircraft stand were promptly completed before project handover.

Special Feature

For the first time, Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA) was introduced for the construction of base course of aircraft pavement in Singapore Changi Airport. In this project, up to 50 % in total thickness of base course was laid with RCA.
Earthwork and construction of new Code C Taxiway L9 and L10, jointing existing Taxiway L8 while aircraft operation is ongoing
Construction of new aircraft stand Bay 101 and 102 as well as taxiway behind L4
Construction of new aircraft stand L11 to L14
Paving of new Taxiway L5 with wearing course HMAC76
Design and construction of new aircraft bridge across existing open drain which is capable to withstand the loading of A380 (Code F)
Relocation of jet blast fence
